Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain SSRS reports for various business functions, including operational, financial, and analytical reporting.
2. Gather requirements from business users and translate them into technical specifications for report development.
3. Design and create datasets by writing SQL queries to extract data from relational databases.
4. Develop report layouts, including tables, charts, graphs, and other visualizations, to present data in a meaningful and actionable format.
5. Customize report parameters and filters to enable users to interact with and drill down into data as needed.
6. Optimize report performance by tuning SQL queries, optimizing dataset queries, and caching report data where applicable.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate reports into applications and portals for user access.
8. Test and validate reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to business requirements.
9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to report generation, data accuracy, and performance.
10. Create and maintain documentation for SSRS reports, including data dictionaries, report specifications, and user guides.
11. Stay current with SSRS best practices, new features, and emerging trends in reporting and data visualization.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an SSRS Developer or similar role, with at least X years of experience.
3. Strong proficiency in SQL querying and database design principles.
4. Hands-on experience with SQL Server and SSRS report development tools.
5. Experience designing and developing complex reports with multiple data sources and parameters.
6. Proficiency in data visualization techniques and best practices.
7. Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.
8. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
11. Relevant certifications such as MCSE: Data Management and Analytics or similar certifications are a plus.
