Job Description:
As a Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Specialist, you will play a vital role in optimizing the revenue generation process for our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and streamline the entire revenue cycle, from patient registration and appointment scheduling to billing, coding, and collections. You will work closely with healthcare providers, administrators, and billing staff to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services rendered. Your role will involve:
Patient Registration and Insurance Verification: Overseeing the patient registration process, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring accurate capture of patient demographic and insurance information.
Charge Capture: Ensuring proper documentation and coding of medical services provided, adhering to coding guidelines and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT).
Billing and Claims Submission: Managing the billing process, generating and submitting accurate claims to insurance payers, government agencies, and patients, utilizing electronic billing systems and clearinghouses.
Payment Posting and Reconciliation: Recording payments received, posting charges and adjustments, reconciling accounts receivable, and resolving discrepancies in payment postings.
Denial Management and Appeals: Identifying and resolving claim denials, conducting appeals for denied claims, and tracking the status of outstanding claims to minimize revenue loss.
Accounts Receivable Follow-Up: Performing timely follow-up on outstanding claims, monitoring aging accounts receivable, and implementing strategies to reduce accounts receivable days.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Generating reports on key revenue cycle metrics, analyzing trends, and identifying areas for improvement in revenue cycle performance.
Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, Stark Law) and payer guidelines, staying updated on changes in billing and coding regulations.
Training and Education: Providing training and education to staff members on revenue cycle processes, coding guidelines, and best practices to optimize revenue capture.
Customer Service: Responding to patient inquiries related to billing and insurance, resolving issues, and providing excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction.
