The role
Strengthening our leadership team, we are looking to add a ‘Engineering Director’, for leading and
managing the engineering and technology functions of the company. The Engineering Director
would work with, report to and work hand-in-hand with the company CEO, who is based out of The
Netherlands. The person would work hand-in-hand with the Product Management function of the
company. This is an excellent role for those who are excited about leading the next big phenomenon
in the Industry 4.0/ Industrial-tech space.
Responsibilities
The areas of direct responsibilities for the Engineering Director include:
• Engineering leadership: we have a high quality and enthusiastic team of technologists (engineers,
designers, developers) - each one of them are handpicked fromthe market for their strong and
unique competencies. With a rich technology experience, architectural expertise and thought
leadership, Engineering Director would guide, coach and assist the team, while getting hands-on,
when needed. Being a software platform company, we encourage a hands-on experience, and
attitude for this role.
• Platform architecture : The Engineering Director would also act as the Platform Architect, taking all
key decisions around the architecture, evolving the product to its next stage(s) and developing the
tech based market differentiation of our products.
• Delivering to the Product Roadmap : envisioning and delivering on product roadmap in alignment
with the company’sstrategy, market developments and the voice of customer. Our current suite of
products have gained a great uptake in the market. Moving forward. there is a strong product
pipeline and strong product management team for the Engineering Director to leverage and work
with.
• Supporting the Delivery organization : as the leader responsible for technical delivery of
customer engagements, Engineering Director would lead and supervise deployment,
integration, custom development, customer support, around the implementation of
Solulever’sproducts.
The areas ofsupport responsibilities for Engineering Director include:
• Supporting sales, alliances and presales: plan for & provide product/tech team capacity for
supporting sales, alliances & presales team. Activities would include, but not limited to, preparing
&making market facing presentations, product demonstration, business/ tech consulting, proposal
writing, site assessment, contracting and related activities.
• Supporting Marketing: contribute to the marketing strategy and deliver to the marketing
programs. Support would be expected in all dimension of marketing including analyst & advisory
relations, PR, social marketing, SEO, event based marketing, lead generation, podcasts/
videocastsetc. Key product artefacts will be a direct deliverable of the product mgmt. team,
supported by the Engineering Director.
• Supporting Finance operations: partner with the CEO to manage budgets, improve profitability,
increase company valuation and control cashflow. Ensure financial discipline, deliver to KPIs for
thefunctions under direct responsibility.
• Supporting Recruitment & HR operations: plan for & provide support in recruitment activities.
Deliver and own capacity planning for functions. The Engineering Director would support HR
activities around employee engagement, performance management, workforce administration,
local compliances, exit management and employer branding.
Ideal Candidate An ideal candidate would:
• Be a proven leader, technologist, team manager, team player and a public speaker
• Have 15+ years of experience with a steep growth-record in B2B software space
• Have led complex software engineering and development functions in fast growing B2B SaaS space
• Be well-versed with the potential of Industry 4.0, especially with the chapter of DigitalManufacturing
• Have earned the respect of being a trusted advisor by the leaders of engineering, operations,supply
chain, IT, OT functions in the industry
• Possess the hunger, passion and ability to create & sustain the next big phenomenon in the
• Manufacturing technology space
• Be excited about making business travel for 25 -50% of the time
